Dental Examination

At Super Smile Dental, we strive to address the dental requirements of individuals and families by listening to and including patients in treatment planning. When patients contact us, we schedule an initial visit to explore their dental health concerns. Additionally, we schedule dental examinations to determine the patient’s oral health and treatment requirements.

Whether you’ve already had an initial consultation with us and are waiting for a dental examination, the following information may be of use.

Physical examinations of the mouth will be performed by our dentist during a dental examination. If there are evidence of tooth decay or cavities or enamel erosion or inflammation, it will be examined. The checkup also includes a screening for illnesses. Other diagnostic procedures, such as X-rays, CT scans, or biopsies, may be ordered after the physical examination, depending on the patient’s dental health.

Before any diagnostic testing is performed, your dentist will talk with you about the likely impacts of the procedure, as well as the associated costs, so that the patient may decide whether or not to proceed.

Patients may be unaware that their oral health is deteriorating until they have a dental checkup. Preventing tooth infections and abscesses by having regular dental examinations is an important part of maintaining good oral health.
